Bio

Wim van de Kraats joined Aegon Asset Management in July 2023 and is the chief risk and compliance officer responsible for raising and maintaining the global standard of risk management and compliance within the three lines of defense model. He oversees portfolio risk management and control, operational and model risk management and compliance as well as having accountability for risk oversight of our two joint ventures, Aegon Industrial Fund Management Company (AIFMC) and La Banque Postale Asset Management (LBPAM). Wim has been with Aegon for 20 years and has held a number of senior positions, most latterly as Chief Risk Officer and member of the Executive Board at Aegon NL. He was also a non-executive director and member of the Supervisory Board of Aegon Bank, while previous roles included senior vice president, head of operational and model risk management and senior vice president, head of risk governance and model validation at Aegon NV. Prior to that, Wim spent time at Rabobank and PWC. He has been in the industry since 2000 and started with the firm and its affiliates in 2004. He received his postgraduate in accounting and his master’s in economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
